CITES Cop 17

At the CITES Cop 17 held in Johannesburg last month, all eight species of pangolin, known as the world’s most trafficked mammal, were up listed from Appendix II to Appendix I. This means that all international commercial trade of pangolin and their parts is prohibited.

Pangolin Peddler Cops Jailed For 10 Years

Two police officers from Gokwe have each been sentenced to 10 years in prison after they were found in possession of a pangolin. The duo, part of a four member gang which includes two villagers, were caught while trying to sell the animal to a detective.
